Born in Holland, MI and raised primarily in Rochester, NY, Ann Kansfield arrived on the literary scene in the 4th grade when she won her elementary school library's alphabetical order competition.

While she holds a BA (with honors) from Columbia University (1998) and an MDiv (summa cum laude) from New Brunswick Theological Seminary (2004), her greatest accomplishment in life has been serving as the pastor of the Greenpoint Reformed Church in Brooklyn, NY.

She worked for four years in the financial services industry, but following September 11th felt a call to enter the ministry. She has not purchased a call option in five years although she still occasionally dreams of entering trades for butteryfly spreads. She enables her preaching habit by working full-time as a financial writer for the United Church Foundation, an associated ministry of the United Church of Christ.

Ann is the partner of Jennifer Aull, a one time Southern Baptist girl who used to dream of becoming a pastor's wife. Jen has surpassed that and more as she completes her MDiv at Union Theological Seminary this spring. Ann and Jen met the old fashioned way - while teaching Sunday school at Middle Collegiate Church in Manhattan.
